Editorial Guidelines

    Last updated: June 2026

At IMTools, our goal is to provide accurate, practical, and easy-to-understand guides and tools. These guidelines describe how we plan, write, review and update content on the site.

    Our principles

    • Accuracy. We verify every technical claim against the underlying library or specification before publishing.
    • Clarity. We write for a smart non-specialist reader. Jargon is defined the first time it appears.
    • Freshness. Tool documentation is reviewed any time the underlying tool changes; blog posts are reviewed at least once a year.
    • Privacy. Examples and screenshots never include real personal data.

    How we plan content

Most articles answer a specific question we have seen asked repeatedly by users — usually about how to compress, convert, or extract content for a particular Indian use-case (UPSC, SSC, GST, university, bank applications). We prioritize hands-on examples, screenshots, and real-world use cases wherever possible.

    Review process

    1. Draft is written by a member of the IMTools team.
    2. Technical claims are verified against the relevant library, spec or government portal.
    3. A second team member reviews for clarity, structure and readability.
    4. The post is published with a publication date and an author byline.

    Corrections policy

If we discover an error after publication, we update the article and add a note describing what changed and when. If you find any inaccuracies, please contact us so corrections can be made promptly.

    Use of AI tools

We may use AI assistants to draft outlines or polish phrasing, but every published article is reviewed and edited by a human team member who is responsible for its accuracy.

    Sponsorship and disclosure

We do not publish paid placements disguised as editorial content. Display ads served on the site are clearly identifiable as advertising and never influence editorial decisions.
